Job summary

Forgent Power Solutions, Inc. is looking for a Product Development Engineer – Mechanical in Dayton, Minnesota. The engineer will lead mechanical architecture development for modular power infrastructure platforms, focusing on designing scalable product platforms that enhance production efficiency and reliability.

This role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams and is ideal for candidates with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial or power infrastructure products.
• Experience designing fabricated metal structures and assemblies.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical platform architectures supporting modular critical power infrastructure systems.
• Design structural and packaging solutions for power distribution devices.
• Develop product designs that reduce manufacturing labor hours and complexity.

Skills

Proficiency with SolidWorks

Strong understanding of modular product design

Ability to translate product architecture into repeatable manufacturing designs

Education

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
