Job summary

Zekelman Industries, a leading modular construction manufacturer, seeks a Drafter/Shop Drawing Drafter to develop production-ready shop drawings and fabrication docs. Hybrid role across Austin, Chandler, or Troy locations, enabling collaboration with design and manufacturing teams to optimize production and quality.

You will produce models and drawings, coordinate with engineers and shop trades, and support weekly schedules while maintaining meticulous documentation and industry drafting

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in design for manufacturing, fabrication, drafting, or a related field.
• Advanced SolidWorks skills.
• Working knowledge of Revit.
• Experience with FrameCAD preferred.
• Strong drafting standards, manufacturing processes, and production documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develops production-ready models and shop drawings for modular manufacturing operations.
• Creates drafting packages, exported drawings, and automation files to support fabrication processes.
• Adapts and develops modular details to address manufacturing requirements and production conditions.
• Reviews consultant drawings and identifies questions, conflicts, inconsistencies, and coordination issues.
• Collaborates with Senior Designers to support weekly production schedules and deliverables.
• Researches and develops new assemblies, products, and components to support innovation initiatives.
• Partners with shop trades during prototype phases to optimize constructability and manufacturing processes.
• Maintains accurate and organized project documentation to support production and project execution.
• Supports cross-functional teams by providing technical drafting expertise and design coordination.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
