Job summary

The Talent Mine is partnering with Energy Jobline ZR to place a Cost Estimator – Modular R&D for data center infrastructure in Austin, TX, on-site. You will own modular cost models covering structural, mechanical, electrical and controls, turning preliminary CAD concepts into should-cost estimates to steer early design decisions.

Seeking 3–7 years in modular/prefab cost estimating, with the ability to build flexible models and reconcile estimates with actuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or equivalent.
• 3–7 years of hands-on cost estimating in modular/prefabricated construction or data center environments.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu, OST and advanced Excel modeling.

Responsibilities

• Build and own cost models across structural, mechanical cooling, electrical distribution and controls.
• Price design alternatives in hours to guide trade-offs like liquid cooling and skid vs site-built scopes.
• Interrogate vendor quotes and develop should-cost models for high-value equipment.
• Reconcile estimates with actual costs after prototypes to tighten future estimates.
• Identify scope gaps, labor productivity factors, material escalation and freight cost risks.
