Job summary

Altorfer Inc. is seeking a proactive Modern Workplace Support Specialist to join the IT support team in Cedar Rapids. This role focuses on end-user support across desktop, mobile, cloud, and hybrid environments, leveraging Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for device lifecycle management.

You will support Microsoft 365 services and identity solutions, while contributing to automation, AI-driven improvements, and continuous process optimization across the IT function.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Information Technology or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 2+ years of technical support experience in an enterprise environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows 11, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, networking fundamentals.
• Experience with enterprise ticketing systems and remote support tools.
• Ability to diagnose technical issues and follow through to resolution.
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and documentation skills.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide responsive Tier 1 and 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and Microsoft 365 services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, OS, network, authentication, and app issues.
• Deliver remote and onsite support with strong customer service and ownership.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, root cause notes, and resolutions in the ITSM system.
• Escalate complex issues and assist with investigation and follow-up through resolution.
• Provision, deploy, and manage Windows devices using Intune and Windows Autopilot.
• Support device enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and Windows Update for Business.
• Assist with device lifecycle management, inventory accuracy, and retirement.
• Support Defender, endpoint security initiatives, and compliance across managed devices.
• Support Microsoft 365 services: Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online.
