We are looking for an experienced Principal or Senior Principal engineer in Software or Modeling and Simulation, with strong expertise in C++.

The selected candidate will work full-time, onsite at Northridge, CA, Tucson, AZ, or Linthicum, MD.

Responsibilities

Assist with integrating C++ based simulation of the AARGM ER missile system into a system of simulations. Support live fire testing and verify the weapon system using our simulations. Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team involved in software development, systems engineering, modeling, and analysis.

Qualifications

For Principal Engineer, Modeling and Simulation Software (Level 03):

• BS in relevant field + 5 years experience or MS + 3 years
• Proficiency in developing cross-platform C++ desktop applications, understanding of compilers, linkers, OS (Windows/Linux)
• Experience with Python and MATLAB
• Knowledge of object-oriented design and software patterns
• Understanding of distributed computing architectures
• Experience with 6-DOF simulations or guidance, navigation, and control algorithms
• Ability to solve complex technical problems
• Basic physics knowledge related to flight dynamics and sensors
• Current US Secret security clearance within the past 5 years, eligible for SCI update

For Senior Principal Engineer, Modeling and Simulation Software (Level 04):

• BS + 8 years experience or MS + 6 years
• Same technical skills as Level 03, with more experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GIT, make files, CMAKE
• Familiarity with Distributed Simulation Systems protocols (DIS, HLA)
• Mathematical background in linear algebra, differential equations
• Experience verifying weapon systems using simulations
• Budget and schedule estimation, agile experience
• Experience with SysML, CAMEO, AJEM, AFSIM

Salary Range

$118,600 - $206,000 (general guideline; actual offer based on various factors)
