Job summary

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory is seeking an Energy/Environmental Technology Researcher (EETR2/EETR3) to develop and deploy simulation tools for energy systems. You will work in an interdisciplinary team on HVAC systems, contribute to high-impact journals, and help secure funding. This role requires a strong background in system modeling and controls with a bachelor's, master's, or PhD in a related field. Qualifications

  • Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a master's degree; or a PhD degree without experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in system modeling, simulation, building sciences and controls through journal and conference publications.
  • Strong working knowledge of heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deploy the Modelica Buildings Library and related Modelica/FMI-based tools.
  • Conduct advanced research applying technologies to buildings and district energy systems.
  • Publish in high-impact journals, present at conferences, and collaborate with industry.

Skills
