Job summary

QTEC Aerospace in Huntsville, AL is seeking Model Based Systems Engineers to join a defense-focused team delivering program, engineering, and technical support. Candidates will contribute to MBSE processes, interface definitions, and cross-functional product teams to implement customer requirements.

Responsibilities include requirements decomposition, use case development, agile backlog management, and translating customer needs into hardware and software specifications while collaborating

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related STEM field with at least 2 years' related experience.
  • Must be able to support an in-person / closed-area work environment daily.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes and related tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw).
  • Ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional, and technical requirements baselines.
  • Skills in generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed.
  • Self-motivated and customer-oriented.

  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Work with teams crossing multiple functions in order to drive data connectivity from architecture to requirements to test

Selected applicants will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government. The successful candidates will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

The successful candidates will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Defense programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Minimum Education And Experience

Desired Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • The candidate should have an understanding of the Systems Engineering 'V' and be capable of performing engineering analysis, requirements allocation, requirements decomposition
  • Experience in mission analysis with skill in the development of use cases, sequence diagrams, and creation of Interface Documents
  • Experience with requirements solicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components
  • Experience using Atlassian Tools such as JIRA
  • Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices
  • Expert in all MS Office applications and familiarity with DOORS
  • Familiar with Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have and be able to maintain a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance.
