Job summary

Lexeo Therapeutics is hiring a hands-on Modality Engineering Scientist in New York City to design, synthesize, and characterize oligonucleotides, bioconjugates, and AAV therapeutics for the discovery pipeline. The role spans chemistry, molecular biology, and pharmacology, with handoff to in vitro and in vivo teams.

The candidate will manage CROs, optimize conjugates, engineer AAVs, and collaborate across disciplines to advance molecules, write SOPs, and contribute to IP and regulatory filings.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with substantial hands-on industry experience in oligonucleotide or bioconjugate work must be shown.
• Experience synthesizing, purifying, and characterizing ASOs/siRNAs or related bioconjugates.
• Strong publication, patent, or technical contributions demonstrating productivity.

Responsibilities

• Select and manage CROs for oligonucleotide synthesis and bioconjugation.
• Design and oversee oligonucleotide conjugates; optimize conjugation chemistry and analytics.
• Engineer AAV capsids and regulatory elements; conduct cloning and vector production.
• Design and screen sequences with NGS readouts; apply analytical methods to improve potency and yield.
• Collaborate with In Vitro/In Vivo teams to define cascades and support go/no-go decisions.
• Support process development and formulation; identify risks and propose experiments.
• Write SOPs, document work in ELN, present results, and monitor platform advances.
