Job summary

BMW Group USA in Mountain View, CA offers a Spring 2027 – Summer 2027 internship. You will scout, analyze and report on emerging trends in Mobility, Consumer Electronics, Digital Ecosystems and Autonomous Vehicles to support BMW Group R&D efforts.

This hybrid role requires full-time availability (36.25 hours/week) and US work authorization. Undergraduate students earn $32.50/hour and graduate students $40.00/hour; background checks apply and relocation is not offered.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
• US Work Authorization required.
• Minimum GPA 3.0 (overall).
• Completed at least 60 college credits by application.
• Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week).
• Submit unofficial transcript with application.
• Prior BMW Group experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Scout, analyze and understand emerging trends, technologies and materials in Mobility, Consumer Electronics, Digital Ecosystems, Autonomous Vehicles and sustainability to support BMW Group R&D efforts.
• Track activities and investments in technology domains and provide routine executive summaries with a focus on VC/startup activity in the U.S.
• Identify trends and technologies in startups, corporations and universities in focus areas.
• Support project management of innovation projects and track engagement activity.
• Support networking initiatives by identifying startup ecosystem partners including VC, accelerators, universities and startups.
