Job summary

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) seeks an Assistant Director of Mobility to lead paratransit and microtransit operations, translate strategy into day-to-day delivery, and ensure safety, reliability, accessibility, and customer experience.

Reporting to the Director of Mobility Services, you will manage managers across paratransit operations, eligibility, reservations, and microtransit, coordinate across departments, and drive performance improvements in a growing transit network as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation, public administration, business administration, operations management, logistics, mobility management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible experience in transit operations, paratransit, demand-response transportation, mobility services, customer operations, or program management.
• Experience managing managers, supervisors, or multiple operational functions within a customer-facing or service-oriented organization.
• Experience using operational performance measures, service data, and customer information to identify problems and improve performance.
• Experience coordinating across multiple departments or functional areas to resolve operational issues and implement service improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for paratransit and microtransit service delivery in alignment with priorities, standards, policies, and resource parameters.
• Direct, coach, and support managers responsible for paratransit field operations, dispatch, eligibility, reservations, and microtransit.
• Monitor key performance indicators and operational results across paratransit and microtransit, including service reliability, trip fulfillment, on-time performance, customer responsiveness, and productivity.
• Oversee coordinated execution of paratransit operations, dispatch, eligibility administration, and related customer-support functions with ADA compliance.
• Oversee execution of the microtransit program, monitor vendor performance, and coordinate with internal partners on operational issues.
