Job summary

Uber recruits a strategic Product Counsel to join the Mobility Legal Team in the United States, advising product managers, engineers, designers, and operations on the technology behind Uber's rides business from development through launch and beyond.

You will identify risk mitigations across employment, privacy, data security, and regulatory issues, and work with regional teams to provide cohesive global guidance.

Qualifications

• J.D. and license to practice law in at least one state.
• Minimum of five years of legal experience in private practice, in-house, or government.
• Experience analyzing technology platforms and/or consumer protection issues.

Responsibilities

• Advise product managers, engineers, designers, analysts, and operations staff on legal aspects of Uber's product development and launches.
• Identify and develop risk mitigations across employment, consumer protection, privacy, data security, litigation risk, regulatory, and antitrust issues.
• Collaborate with Litigation, Marketing, Employment and regional teams to provide cohesive global advice.
• Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors for Driver App and related initiatives.
• Create and implement policies to ensure consistent application of legal guidance.
