Job summary

NATIVE HEALTH is seeking a WIC Educator to provide nutrition services, breastfeeding support, and program documentation in our Greater Phoenix clinics. The role involves coordinating food packages, performing nutrition assessments, and collaborating with dietitians and other health professionals to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

The position requires knowledge of WIC regulations, strong counseling skills, and the ability to work with American Indian/Alaska Native communities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of nutrition during pregnancy, infancy, and early childhood.
• Understanding of WIC requirements: certification, eligibility, foods, and packages.
• Knowledge of breastfeeding promotion and support.
• Familiarity with community health resources and Native communities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nutrition assessments for pregnant, postpartum, breastfeeding women, infants, and children.
• Develop individualized care plans and follow-up with participants.
• Coordinate food packages and supplies per program rules.
• Refer high-risk participants to RD or other healthcare professionals.
• Complete WIC certification and recertification within scope of practice.
• Plan and deliver nutrition education classes and community outreach.
• Maintain timely electronic documentation and compliance with regulations.
