Job summary

BlueSky At-Home Veterinary Care seeks a Relief Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) for mobile, per diem visits in Sacramento, CA. Drive to client homes, assist veterinarians, handle patients with Fear Free principles, and maintain records with care and discretion.

Preferred candidates have 5+ years of hands-on veterinary experience, a valid driver's license, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced field setting.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, or CVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant with strong clinical skills.
• 5+ years of experience in veterinary settings.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, client-centered approach.
• Commitment to Fear Free techniques and patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Drive the mobile veterinary vehicle to client homes safely.
• Assist the veterinarian with patient handling, restraint, diagnostics and treatment following Fear Free principles.
• Communicate clearly with clients before, during, and after visits.
• Perform technical duties: collect samples, administer medications, prepare and submit lab work, maintain medical records.
