Job summary

BlueSky At-Home Veterinary Care is seeking a Relief Veterinary Technician (Per Diem) to serve Austin, TX, visiting clients in their homes with a mobile veterinary team.

You will assist veterinarians, handle patients, collect samples, prepare labs, and maintain medical records, while upholding Fear Free handling and compassionate care. This on-demand role offers flexible scheduling, independence, and a supportive team that manages scheduling and logistics.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician with strong clinical skills.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and compassionate client focus.
• Commitment to Fear Free handling and patient-centered care.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive the mobile veterinary vehicle to and from client homes.
• Assist the veterinarian with patient handling, restraint, diagnostics, and treatment following Fear Free handling principles.
• Communicate clearly with clients before, during, and after visits.
• Perform technical duties: collect samples, administer medications, prepare and submit lab work, and maintain medical records.
• Support compassionate, individualized care for every patient.
