Job summary

The State of Vermont is seeking a Mobile Unit Client Support Specialist based at the Springfield DMV office, with daily travel to the Dummerston and White River Jct mobile unit locations.

In this fast-paced role you will process motor vehicle registrations, driver licenses, and identification cards, handle money accurately, and deliver strong customer service while working as part of the Mobile Unit team. Regular hours are Monday through Thursday, with some overtime.

Qualifications

• Three (3) or more years of office administrative experience that included significant public contact.
• OR One (1) or more years of experience with the Vermont DMV.
• A current, valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Review, verify, code, and process applications for motor vehicle registrations, driver licenses, and identification cards.
• Ability to handle large sums of money accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service to diverse customers.

This position is part of the Mobile Unit team that is based out of the Springfield DMV office and will travel to a satellite branch office daily, this team staffs the Dummerston and White River Jct mobile unit locations.

The Motor Unit Client Support Specialist is a fast-paced position that requires dealing with large numbers of customers every day. This position is part of the Mobile Unit team that is based out of the Springfield DMV office and will travel to a satellite branch office daily, this team staffs the Dummerston and White River Jct mobile unit locations.

Candidates should be able to work successfully as a team member, work independently, and make informed decisions. Attention to detail is critical as work involves review, verification, coding, and processing of applications for all types of motor vehicle registrations, driver licenses, and identification cards. The ability to process large sums of money and excellent customer service skills are required for this position.

The position is full-time, Monday through Thursday, 6:45am-5:15pm, with some overtime required.

Environmental Factors

Incumbents must be able to work quickly and accurately under pressure before the public eye and from telephone inquiries. Due to significant public contact exposure to contagious illnesses is a daily risk. Incumbents must be able to multi-task and prioritize unpredictable workloads. Employees must be able to deal with confused, frustrated, and highly upset customers and handle large sums of money. Within the office setting, normal workplace conditions prevail. Occasional trips outdoors when verifying vehicle identification numbers. Incumbents must be able to perform several job duties within several different units possibly in the same day. The incumbent must be able to travel to other offices with minimal notice to assist when staffing shortages occur and various scheduled hours. Private means of transportation may be required. Overtime work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of office administrative experience that included significant public contact.

OR

One (1) or more years of experience with the Vermont DMV.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with prior motor vehicle department experience.

Special Requirements

A current, valid driver's license is required.

An applicant's vision must be correctable to 20/40 (Snellen test) in both eyes, with normal color perception and field of vision.

SPECIAL NOTE: The incumbent will serve customers promptly and efficiently while maintaining the minimum production level of 5+ transactions per hour with a 1% or less error rate. The incumbent will be proficient in 5 or more of the job duties.
