Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Mobile HVAC Engineer to support a dynamic retail portfolio across New Jersey. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to service requests, and ensure HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems run safely and efficiently.

The role involves traveling to assigned sites from a home base, using a CBRE van with gas card, tools, and uniforms provided. Strong trouble-shooting and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• 3–5 years building engineering experience (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• EPA Universal Certification or obtained within 90 days; required licenses.
• NY FDNY Q-01 or Q-99 and Fire & Life Safety certifications; boiler/refrigeration experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to repair work orders for building systems and equipment.
• Inspect, operate, and maintain HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building systems.
• Conduct facility inspections and report conditions impacting operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
• Follow all safety procedures, complete hazard assessments, and comply with OSHA and local regulations.
• Use CMMS (e.g., Corrigo) to update work orders and document activities in real time.
• Communicate effectively with clients and management; work independently in the field.
• Safely operate and maintain company vehicles; complete required inspections and documentation.
