Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is hiring for tire service technicians to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger and commercial fleets. The role involves diagnosing systems on semi-trucks and trailers, ensuring safety, and following all safety policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy-duty tires, a valid driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 250 lbs. Training will be provided, and a Service Truck (F-350) may be required for on-site breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Experience with heavy duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to lift and/or move tires weighing between 30-250 lbs. with or without mechanical assistance.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Mounting, balancing, rotating, and repairing tires for passenger, light trucks, and large trucks to industrial applications.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair semi-truck and trailer systems, including tires, HVAC, brakes, steering & suspension, PM inspections, drive train, and electrical.
• Ensure safe operation of company vehicles, complying with speed and traffic regulations.
• Participate in training, follow safety procedures, and adhere to company policies.
• Possess the ability to drive a service truck (F-350) to on-site locations where customers are broken down.
• Load and unload stock and assist with physical inventory.
• Work with Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
