Job summary

Mckinney Trailers in Orlando, FL is seeking a skilled maintenance technician for trailer repair and fabrication. You will perform welding and fabrication, inspect and repair ABS and brake components, and maintain Class 8 trailers while logging hours and costs.

You will coordinate with the Service Manager and operations team daily to meet equipment demands, ensure safety standards, and manage inventory in the yard. A GED or high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or 2 years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret general procedures, regs, and reports; write summaries and communicate with staff.
• Math skills for quantities, measurements, currency, and proportions.
• Valid driver's license in state of employment.
• Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and organized.
• 1+ years welding experience including fabrication of metal parts and assemblies.
• 1+ year FHWA inspection experience.
• 1+ year experience troubleshooting and repairing ABS and brake components.

Responsibilities

• Meets daily with Service Manager and operations staff to discuss upcoming orders and equipment demands.
• Uses repair orders to record work and submits a daily list of completed equipment numbers.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, local government and company safety and reliability standards.
• Oversees shipping/receiving: inspecting, storing, and retrieving inventory.
• Drives and spots equipment in the yard.
• Reports all costs of equipment added to the fleet.
• Repairs and maintains Class 8 trailers; logs repair hours.
• Fabricates and welds; designs and installs interiors into trailers; works safely.
