Job summary

Mckinney Trailers seeks a Trailer Technician to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on a large fleet of trailers. You will handle Federal inspections, welding tasks, wheel-end and electrical work with limited supervision.

The role requires welding skills, experience with FHWA inspections, and ability to troubleshoot brake components. Excellent safety focus and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience in equipment maintenance.
• Minimum 1–2 years welding experience and fabrication of metal parts.
• Experience with FHWA inspections and brake components repairs.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with Service Manager to discuss upcoming orders and equipment demands.
• Use repair orders to document work and report completed equipment numbers daily.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local safety and reliability standards.
• Oversee shipping/receiving, inspect, store, and retrieve inventory.
• Drive and spot equipment in yard; log repair hours.
• Fabricate and weld, install interiors into trailers; work safely.
