Interstate Trailer is seeking an experienced Mobile Trailer Mechanic in Franklin, OH to join our service team. The role focuses on performing mobile repairs, preventive maintenance, testing and DOT inspections on trailers while traveling to customer locations and shop sites as needed.

We value dependability, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and quality. A sign-on bonus of $3,000 is offered for experienced mobile mechanics who join our team.

Responsabilités

• Perform trailer repairs, including wall patches and floor patches.
• Perform preventative maintenance on trailers.
• Perform DOT inspections.
• Replace wheel seals.
• Provide mobile repair services.
• Provide road service as needed.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with trailers.
• Read job orders, observe and listen to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunction and plan work procedures.

Responsibilities for a Mobile Mechanic:

• Perform trailer repairs, including wall patches and floor patches


• Perform preventative maintenance on trailers


• Perform DOT inspections


• Replace wheel seals


• Perform welding as needed


• Provide mobile repair services


• Provide road service as needed


• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with trailers


• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.


• Read job orders, observe and listen to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunction and plan work procedures.


• Follow checklists ensuring all critical parts are examined.


• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and adjust as needed.


• Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly.


• Tag all warranty parts and returns to the warranty clerk.


• Attend training classes and keep tabs on factory technical bulletins.


• Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer happiness.


• Properly complete the service and/or repairs assigned by the supervisor.


• Complete all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.


• Participate in, and utilize to the best of one’s abilities, technical training as assigned by management.


• Maintain your designated workspace in an organized and clean manner.


• Ensure guest vehicles are returned as clean as they were prior to being serviced.


• Show the utmost courtesy to all guests, visitors, and dealership personnel.


• Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.


• Adhere to manufacturer’s policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation when performing warranty repairs and torque specifications.


• Any other duties as outlined by the Service Supervisor and or management.

Qualifications for a Mobile Trailer Mechanic:

• Must have a good driving record

Mobile Technician Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, Standing, Stooping/Kneeling for extended amounts of time.


• Reaching with arms and hands


• Lift up to 50 pounds


• Must be able to work independently
