Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire service technician to respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck. You will mount, dismount, balance, and repair all types of tires, including passenger, light truck, commercial, and industrial.

You will diagnose tire issues, perform light mechanical repairs, inspect wear and proper inflation, operate TPMS, and keep the truck and tools in safe condition.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
• Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.
• Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires of all types (passenger, light truck, commercial, industrial).
• Diagnose and repair tire-related issues; perform light mechanical repairs as needed.
• Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.
• Operate TPMS and other diagnostic tools; maintain service truck and tools in safe condition.
• Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.
• Provide exceptional customer service with clear communication of service details and timelines.
• Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.
