Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire service technician to respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.

You will mount, dismount, balance, and repair all types of tires, diagnose tire issues, inspect wear and inflation, and perform fleet inspections when required.

You will maintain the truck and tools, follow DOT regulations, provide clear customer communication, and assist with warehouse duties when not on service calls.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
• Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.
• Mount, dismount, balance, and repair all types of tires (passenger, light truck, commercial, industrial).
• Diagnose and repair tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs as needed.
• Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.
• Operate TPMS and other diagnostic tools.
• Maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.
• Follow DOT regulations, safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.
• Provide exceptional customer service with clear communication of service details and timelines.
• Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.
