Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire service technician to respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck, and to mount, balance, and repair all tire types.

You will inspect tires and wheels, operate TPMS and diagnostic tools, maintain the service truck and equipment, and follow DOT regulations. CDL is preferred but not required, with overtime possible; benefits include 401(k) with match and comprehensive health, dental, vision, and life coverage.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL preferred but not required).
• Possible overtime may be required.
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lift and move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
• Capable of working independently in various weather and road conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside and on-site service calls using a fully equipped service truck.
• Mount, dismount, balance, and repair tires of all types (passenger, light truck, commercial, industrial).
• Diagnose and repair tire-related issues and perform light mechanical repairs as needed.
• Inspect tires and wheels for wear, damage, and proper inflation.
• Perform fleet inspections and preventative maintenance checks when required.
• Operate TPMS and other diagnostic tools.
• Maintain the service truck, tools, and equipment in safe operating condition.
• Follow DOT regulations, company safety policies, and traffic laws at all times.
• Provide exceptional customer service with clear communication of service details and timelines.
• Assist with warehouse or shop duties when not on service calls.
