Job summary

Southern Tire Mart in Idaho Falls is hiring a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for various vehicle types, from passenger cars to industrial trucks.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues on semi-trucks, performing fleet inspections, and maintaining TPMS, while upholding safety and company policies. Training and career growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing between 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work involving repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and working in awkward postures or under vibration.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance.
• Operate company vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic regulations.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
• Use and maintain TPMS.
• Assist with inventory loading, unloading, and physical counts.
• Participate in ongoing training and follow safety protocols.
