Job summary

Southern Tire Mart seeks a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate and repair tires for passenger cars, light and heavy trucks, and industrial vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical issues on semis, conduct fleet inspections, and respond to roadside service calls with a service truck when required.

This role requires lifting heavy tires (30–250 lbs), a valid driver’s license, and a pre-employment drug screen. Overtime may be needed, with benefits including health and 401(k).

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Possible overtime may be required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience with heavy-duty or commercial tires preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30–250 lbs., with or without mechanical aids.
• Physically demanding work with repetitive motion, forceful exertion, and awkward postures or vibration.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires across passenger cars, light trucks, large trucks, and industrial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on semi-trucks and trailers.
• Conduct fleet inspections and routine maintenance including PM inspections.
• Respond to roadside service calls using a service truck when needed.
• Use and maintain TPMS.
• Assist with inventory loading, unloading and counts.
• Participate in ongoing training and follow safety protocols.
