Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Joppa, MD, is seeking a Mobile Technician II to perform intermediate service and repair of tractors, trailers, chassis, and power equipment at customer sites using our mobile service truck.

The role involves preventive maintenance, tire and brake work, electrical diagnostics, ABS troubleshooting, and documenting work orders. You will mentor trainees and ensure safety on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 for lighter equipment or 21 with 2 years of semi-tractor/trailer maintenance experience.
• Possess a clean motor vehicle record per company guidelines.
• Able to supply own basic tools or purchase through toolbox program.
• Willingness to work outdoors and across multiple shifts, including nights/weekends.
• Preferred: high school diploma or GED with relevant maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate maintenance and repairs on tractors/trailers and power equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair ABS systems and electrical diagnostics.
• Operate mobile service truck and document work orders accurately.
• Document damage and estimate repair costs; use cutting torch and welding for mid-level repairs.
• Participate in DOT and FHWA inspections and assist with trainee onboarding.
