Position Overview
The Mobile Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty trucks and equipment at customer locations and in the field. This role requires strong technical expertise, independence, and the ability to deliver high-quality service in a variety of environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and equipment
- Troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, air brakes, and drivetrains
- Respond to mobile service calls and emergency breakdowns as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a service truck, ensuring proper tools, parts, and inventory are stocked
- Accurately document work performed, parts used, and labor time
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, timelines, and recommendations
- Follow all DOT, safety, and company procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully equipped service vehicle
- Coordinate with dispatch and shop team to prioritize and complete service calls efficiently
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy-duty or diesel repair
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time in a field environment
- Experience with mobile or field service preferred
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred, depending on role)
- Ability to meet DOT requirements (if applicable)
- Relevant certifications (ASE or OEM training) are a plus
Work Environment
- Field-based role working outdoors and at customer job sites in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding (lifting, bending, working with heavy equipment)
- May require on-call, after-hours, or weekend work
