Job summary

STERIS is seeking a frontline technician for on-site mobile repair of surgical instruments in the Columbus area. No prior instrument repair is required—we will train you and pair you with two colleagues to visit customer hospitals.

This full-time 1st shift role offers hands-on training, career progression, and extensive benefits. This position involves driving to facilities within the greater Columbus area, with paid travel time and a focus on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL not required).
• Must be at least 21 years old to meet FMCSA interstate driving age requirement.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Willingness to learn and perform instrument repairs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, hand and power tools, soldering; complexity varies.
• Travel to Customer hospitals in the Columbus area and nearby cities; all on-truck travel time paid.
• Collaborate with two technicians to operate the mobile repair truck and ensure timely service.
