STERIS - Commercial Operations is seeking a Repair Technician to inspect, repair, and refurbish surgical instruments in a field-based role. Technicians operate from mobile repair trucks at Customer sites and regional labs, travel daily, may require overnight travel, and must meet safety and regulatory requirements.

The role requires high school diploma or GED, 1 year hands-on experience, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, pass DOT medical, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and verifiable experience in repair or related hands-on work.
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and push carts up to 150 pounds.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and meet FMCSA/DOT requirements.
• DOT medical/physical exam may be required and compliance with safety policies.

Responsabilités

• Perform basic level repair and maintenance of surgical instruments (ultrasonic, buff and polish, bending, shaping, sharpening, hinge points, serrations, brazing).
• Provide invoicing, work orders, and daily documentation per reporting and regulatory requirements.
• Complete Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI) as trained.
• Operate a mobile repair truck and comply with DOT and site safety procedures.
• Occasional overnight travel; frequent hospital site trips; driving company vehicle.

In this position,you will perform surgical instrument inspection, repair, and refurbishment in a field-based setting. Technicians work out of mobile repair trucks at Customer sites and regional labs in more condensed markets. Technicians deliver superior Customer Experience by providing timely and quality repairs to meet compliance standards.This position may require occasional overnight travel.This role requires daily travel by driving a company vehicle. If offered this position, STERIS will run a 7 year driving record check, as part of our onboarding process.**What will you do as a Repair Technician?**You will perform basic level repair and maintenance of surgical instruments, including ultra sonic, buff and polish, bending, shaping, sharpening, hinge points, serrations, and brazing.You’ll provide invoicing, work orders, and daily documentation in accordance with Customer reporting and contractual/regulatory requirements, including end-of-day reporting, such as the OAR.Complete Preventative Maintenance Inspection (PMI), as needed, within training and capability level.You will be responsible for adhering to DOT, company, and Customer protocols for the safe operation of the On Location repair truck, including vehicle and equipment safety procedures.You’ll abide by all Company safety and health policies, uses personal protective equipment and complete safety observations per site requirements.While primarily working inside a mobile repair truck, frequent trips inside the hospital are required.**Required:**High school diploma or GEDMinimum of 1 year of hands-on experience that may include repair, assembly, product testing, or use of small hand tools (or equivalent transferable experience). May include experience such as carpentry, sterile processing, industrial sewing, jewelry repair, maintenance, machining, tool and die, mechanical/ repair, construction, small engine repair, cell phone/ pc/ tablet repair, testing and rebuilds, circuit board assembly, fabrication, welding, or automotive repair. All experiences must be verifiable.Related certifications in technical or mechanical area, competitive equipment training or related military experience may be considered towards experience requirementMust be able to lift up to 100 pounds at times and push instrument rolling carts weighing up 150 pounds at timesMust be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours, sometimes outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends, based on Customer needsMust be a minimum of 21 years old with the ability to meet FMCSA/DOT and driver's license requirementsMust be able to pass a DOT medical/ physical exam, comply with all DOT regulations and conduct basic box truck safety checksMust have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
