Job summary

Excellus BCBS is offering a paid Summer College Internship Program in Utica, NY for 10 weeks, from June to August, with up to 40 hours per week. Interns work on meaningful projects across tracks such as IT, Analytics, Marketing, Finance, and more, with mentorship and development workshops.

Participants gain exposure to agile ceremonies, the full software lifecycle in an enterprise setting, and the opportunity to develop presentations for completion. Housing is not provided.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled full-time in undergraduate or graduate program in Computing Sciences or IT.
• Preferred experience with programming/coding, web design, software development.
• High School diploma with proof of continuous college enrollment.
• Good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and with teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Specific duties will vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.
• Join mobile app development team, participate in agile ceremonies, experience full SDLC including production delivery in an enterprise environment.
• Work with mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Perform a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks across a broad range of business-related projects.
• Create and deliver presentations at completion of internship.
• Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with company policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Performs other functions as assigned by management.
