Job summary

PIRTEK Marion is hiring its first hose installation technicians to support central Ohio and Delaware service operations. You will replace hydraulic hoses, measure, cut, crimp, and assemble hose assemblies on-site, diagnose failures, and bring equipment back to service.

This emergency service role includes on-call rotation about one week in three, a weekly on-call stipend, 2-hour minimum per call-out, and overtime pay. A take-home van is provided along with training and uniforms.

Qualifications

• Mechanically inclined and curious about how things work.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable dealing with customers; you are the face of the company.
• Self-motivated; you will work with little supervision.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls at customer sites across central Ohio.
• Diagnose the failure and identify the correct replacement assembly.
• Measure, cut, crimp, and build hydraulic and industrial hose assemblies on site.
• Install, test, and return the equipment to service.
• Keep your van stocked, clean, and inspected.
• Take your turn in the after-hours on-call rotation.

When a hydraulic hose fails, everything stops. A production line, an excavator, a loader in the middle of a job. Somebody has to get there fast, build the right assembly on the spot, and put the machine back to work. That is the job.

PIRTEK Marion is opening our Delaware service center this fall, and we are hiring our first hose installation technicians.

What It Pays

$23.00 to $30.00 per hour depending on experience. Overtime is regular here, not occasional, and it is paid at time and a half.

• $50 on-call stipend every week you carry the phone, whether or not you get called
• Two-hour minimum on every call-out, plus travel both directions
• Monthly bonus based on the revenue your van generates above target

An experienced technician who works the overtime and hits the bonus should clear $70,000 in a full year.

Straight Talk About The On-call

This is an emergency service business. Hoses fail at night and on weekends, and when they do, someone goes. You will be on call roughly one week in three. You are paid the stipend even on a quiet week, and every call-out pays a two-hour minimum plus travel, at overtime rates once you are past 40.

You will also be out in the weather year-round, and you will get dirty. Some people find that a good deal. Some do not. We would rather you know now.

• Mechanically inclined, and you like figuring out how things work
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Comfortable with customers. You are the whole company as far as they are concerned.
• Self-motivated, because most of the day nobody is watching
• Able to lift 50 pounds and work on your feet
• High school diploma or GED
