Job summary

Caldwell Country Chevrolet II in Caldwell, TX is seeking a Mobile Service Technician to perform lube and basic maintenance at customer locations. You will drive a company vehicle to customer sites and prepare detailed service reports.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, ability to follow manufacturer specifications, and strong customer communication. Experience servicing vehicles and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to work legally in the US.
• Passing a drug screening and criminal background check.
• Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to read and follow complex directions in manuals as well as relay information in reports.
• The physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position of Lube Technician, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds.
• Must maintain 100% of all factory required training, including being 100% compliant within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications
• Topping off other fluids, including brake, power steering and windshield wiper fluid
• Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues
• Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications
• Installing new car parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries
• Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including those in the engine and wheel bearings and ensuring the engine is kept clean throughout servicing
• Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics on the team to address the vehicles’ issues
• Creating detailed service reports for customers
