Job summary

J.C. Lewis Motor Co. in Savannah, GA is seeking a skilled Mobile Service Technician to bring dealership-level maintenance directly to customers at their homes or workplaces. This scheduled, route-based role lets you work independently from a fully equipped van.

You'll handle routine maintenance, diagnostics, brake repairs, post-collision scans, and other mechanical and electrical tasks, with opportunities for growth, certifications, and training to stay current with automotive technology.

Qualifications

• Master technician with ability to work independently.
• Strong mechanical and automotive competencies; electrical knowledge preferred.
• Professional attitude and excellent customer service; neat workspace.
• ASE and I-CAR certifications desired but not required.
• Must be 19+ with a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations using a mobile service van.
• Conduct pre- and post-collision scans and calibrations.
• Provide brake repairs, welding, and diesel engine maintenance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on a variety of vehicles.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Document work performed and recommended services using company software.
• Maintain and operate tools, equipment, and service vehicle safely.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and other team members.
• Supervise apprentice technicians, report equipment defects, and maintain manuals/tools.
• Ensure compliance with environmental policies, safety standards, and manufacturer guidelines.

• ASE and I-CAR certifications desired but not required
• Ability to lift and move heavy parts and equipment
• At least 19 years of age with a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record

This is a scheduled, mobile role — you’ll work from a fully equipped van at customer locations, bringing dealership-level service directly to their door. The role requires independence, strong time management skills, and adaptability to handle a variety of mechanical and electrical tasks in the field.
