What you will be doing:
The Mobile Service Technician will maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; and keeping records.
What you need to succeed (Skills):
- Perform job duties at customer locations and/or outside of the company facility.
- Repair and maintain customer vehicles, including D.O.T. inspections, lube and oil changes, minor adjustments, and minor repairs on tractors, trailers, and trucks.
- Maintain mobile department vehicles, including cleaning and mechanical upkeep.
- Manage truck inventory.
- Record necessary information on vehicles being repaired and complete appropriate inspection forms.
- When mobile maintenance work is unavailable, perform assigned duties in the main shop.
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identify worn and damaged parts.
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; install component and part upgrades; control corrosion; perform winterization procedures.
- Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjust controls and systems.
- Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- Maintain vehicle appearance through cleaning, washing, and painting.
- Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
- Ensure shop equipment operates correctly by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulation publications.
- Enhance maintenance department and organizational reputation by accepting ownership for new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Required Experience:
- High School Diploma
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Certifications for Detroit, Cummins, Freightliner, or Total Truck Care (if applicable)
Compensation & Benefits:
- Compensation: $37.50/hr - $41.96/hr. Compensation will be determined based on experience, competencies, certifications, and education.
