Job summary

Madison City Schools in Madison, AL is seeking an itinerant nurse for RISE Academy. The nurse will cover the hours 8:00 am–4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, providing health services, inputting data, and substituting for clinic and SPED nurses as needed.

The role requires an active Alabama RN license, 3+ years of nursing, and current CPR certification; background checks are required. This is a full-time, on-site position at the Madison City Schools facilities.

Qualifications

• Valid Alabama Nursing license to practice as an RN.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience; school nurse experience required.
• Current CPR Certification for the Professional Rescuer.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for students requiring special health procedures.
• Administer PRN and scheduled medication per policy.
• Evaluate and treat students who come to the clinic for illness or injury.
• Maintain proper and accurate documentation.
• Enforce health policies and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Train and oversee Rise Academy Unlicensed Medication Assistants.
