Job summary

MSI-Viking is seeking an experienced Scale Calibration Technician to join our Service team. This role travels to customer locations to calibrate, inspect, troubleshoot, perform maintenance, and repair scales and weighing systems, ensuring accuracy and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, works independently, and maintains a professional, customer-focused approach while supporting various weighing systems across industries.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or vocational training is a plus.
• Experience with scale calibration, scale repair, weighing systems, instrumentation, electronics, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to customer locations within the assigned territory.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations to perform calibration, testing, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of scales and weighing equipment.
• Service a variety of equipment, including bench scales, floor scales, counting scales, indicators, and other weighing systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic scale issues and determine appropriate repairs or corrective actions.
• Perform calibrations in accordance with company procedures, manufacturer specifications, and applicable quality requirements.
• Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and communicate findings and recommendations to customers.
• Complete calibration records, service reports, and other required documentation accurately.
• Maintain company-issued tools, calibration standards, test weights, and service equipment.
