Job summary

High Plains Mental Health Center in Northwest Kansas is seeking a Rural Outreach Therapist to deliver behavioral health services directly in rural communities. The role uses a mobile office and offers a $75,000 salary with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with in-person patient care across a 20-county area. You’ll conduct individual, family, or group therapy, coordinate with a Patient Navigator, and collaborate with local providers to ensure continuous access to care.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
• Kansas BSRB license or eligibility for equivalent licensure.
• Commitment to KDADS/BSRB licensure requirements for SUD services.
• Competency in using technology and telecommunication tools.

Responsibilities

• Meet with patients for individual, family, or group therapy and complete intake assessments or crisis services.
• Operate from a Center-operated mobile office and travel to rural communities.
• Coordinate care with a Patient Navigator/Support Staff to connect patients with resources.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, schools, hospitals, and community organizations.
• Complete clinical documentation and follow-up between appointments.
• Adjust daily plans to the needs of the community served.
• Participate in ongoing supervision, case consultation, and professional development.
