Job summary

Koenig Equipment in Indiana is seeking a Mobile Response Service Technician to provide on-site maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for agricultural equipment across local counties. Qualifications

• Technical school degree in diesel, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment technology, or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience as a heavy equipment or diesel technician.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing agricultural equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
• Computer proficiency and familiarity with dealership management systems.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; Class A CDL preferred or willing to obtain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations in a service truck to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Perform on-site diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Complete repairs accurately and per dealership standards.
• Communicate findings and suggest preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation.
• Coordinate with Service Manager on changes in scope or scheduling.
• Ensure parts are documented and billed.
• Maintain company vehicle and tools.
• Participate in training and dealership development programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Mobile Response Service Technician performs maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on agricultural equipment at customer locations. This role requires strong troubleshooting skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to operate independently while providing outstanding customer support.

Key Responsibilities

• Travel to customer locations in a fully equipped service truck to diagnose and repair equipment.
• Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Complete repairs accurately, efficiently, and according to dealership standards.
• Communicate findings to customers and recommend preventative maintenance and value-added repairs.
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to maximize machine productivity and minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate labor, service, and repair documentation.
• Coordinate with the Service Manager regarding additional repairs, changes in scope, or scheduling concerns.
• Ensure all parts used are properly documented and billed.
• Submit complete work order information upon completion of repair activities.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and fixed assets in proper operating condition.
• Participate in technical training and dealership development programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school degree in diesel, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment technology, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a heavy equipment, diesel, agricultural, or construction equipment technician.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing agricultural equipment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
• Computer proficiency and ability to work within dealership management systems.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Class A CDL preferred, or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
