Job summary

San Gabriel Valley Medical Center seeks a Psychiatric Emergency Team Clinician (PETC) to evaluate and place patients under 5150 holds as part of emergency intervention. You will provide mobile, unsupervised clinical judgment and coordinate with the Medical Director, psychiatry and nursing leadership.

The role requires current CA licensure in a mental health profession and 18+ months of acute mental health experience with adults and seniors, including familiarity with LPS laws and patient rights.

Qualifications

• Current California licensure or designation as a mental health professional.
• Experience in acute mental health settings with adults and geriatric patients.
• Knowledge of LPS involuntary detention laws and patient rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide mobile psychiatric emergency services for SGVMC.
• Complete patient evaluations and document findings thoroughly.
• Coordinate with psychiatrists, families, and community agencies.
• Attend 5150 proctoring with Medical Director and participate in team meetings.
