Job summary

City of San Antonio seeks a Teacher's Aide to assist in preparing materials and supporting four-year-old children in the Pre-K 4 SA program. You will help maintain a safe, engaging classroom and participate in loading/unloading students with the bus driver.

The role includes supervising students, supporting outdoor learning, and maintaining communications with parents to foster a positive school culture. Working hours vary 7:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the TEA or an accrediting agency).
• CDA certification or ability to obtain within six months; OR twelve hours of college credit in Education or Childhood Development from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing needed materials and supplies.
• Maintains a clean and organized learning environment.
• Interacts with children to engage in play and extend learning.
• Assists teacher with discipline and supervision of students.
• Plans and maintains safe outdoor learning environments.
• Monitors order at transportation sites, classrooms, and common areas.
• Communicates with parents and builds positive relationships with students.
• Assists with loading/unloading students and ensures safety with bus driver.
