Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a dedicated aide to support a four-year-old Pre-K 4 SA program. Under supervision, you will assist the teacher with classroom prep, engage children in developmentally appropriate activities, and help maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment.

Responsibilities include bus loading/unloading with the driver, outdoor learning environments, and maintaining communication with parents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED accepted by Texas TEA or regional accrediting agency.
• CDA certification or 12 college credits in Education/Child Development within 6 months of employment.
• Substitution rules: two years related experience = one year of higher education; one year of higher education = two years experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing materials and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized learning environment.
• Interact with children and participate in play to support learning.
• Assist teacher with discipline and supervision.
• Plan and maintain safe outdoor learning environments.
• Monitor student safety at transportation sites and in classrooms.
