Job summary

Openwork, formerly Meador Staffing Services, is seeking a hands-on Power Engineer to design, develop, test, and improve mobile and vehicle-integrated power systems in Austin, TX. The role covers battery systems, solar power, generators, inverters, and charging architectures.

The ideal candidate will mix theory with practical build, test, and field work. Travel may be required for installations and troubleshooting. Competitive salary with benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hands-on experience in electrical/power engineering.
• 3+ years designing electrical or power systems, mobile/industrial applications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of AC and DC power systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical power systems for mobile, solar, generator, and vehicle-mounted applications.
• Develop battery management, power distribution, inverter, converter, and charging subsystems.
• Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system architecture documentation.
• Select batteries, contactors, fuses, wiring, connectors, power electronics, and other components.
• Perform load calculations, sizing, and thermal analysis.
• Build, test, and validate prototypes in bench and field settings.
• Troubleshoot power-system issues in production and field environments.
• Support integration of power systems into vehicles and fleets.
• Collaborate with installation, service technicians, and other teams.
