Job summary

Hawthorne Health is seeking a Mobile Clinical Research Phlebotomist to perform in-home visits with study participants, including blood draws and specimen handling, across assigned regions. This contract/per-diem role emphasizes independent work, patient-centered service, and adherence to clinical research protocols.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years phlebotomy experience, BLS certification, a national phlebotomy credential, and reliable transportation to participant homes.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Phlebotomy certification from national body (AAH, ASCP, NAHP, NHA, NCCT, NPA, NPCT, or NPS).
• 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to participant homes.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home visits with trial participants according to study schedules.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens per study protocols.
• Process, label and prepare specimens for shipment to central laboratories.
• Accurately document study procedures and visit details.
• Maintain compliance with study protocols and GCP guidelines.
• Maintain proper chain of custody for biological specimens.
• Ensure participant safety, privacy and comfort during home visits.
• Coordinate with clinical research coordinators and study teams as needed.
• Manage phlebotomy and specimen collection supplies.
• Follow all infection control and safety procedures.
