Job summary

Hawthorne Health seeks a Mobile Clinical Research Phlebotomist to perform in-home visits, collect specimens, and support clinical studies. You will travel to participant homes, draw blood, and ensure protocol compliance while delivering patient-centered care.

Role is contract/per-diem, travel-based with per-visit pay. Must be able to work independently, manage scheduling, and document procedures using electronic systems. BLS and CPT I in CA required; 1–2 years’ phlebotomy experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• Current CPT I certificate issued by the CDPH.
• 1–2 years phlebotomy experience.
• Experience performing venipuncture on diverse populations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to participant homes.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
• Comfortable using electronic documentation systems.
• Ability to travel within the assigned region and lift supplies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home visits with study participants per schedule.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens per protocols.
• Process, label, and prepare specimens for shipment to central laboratories.
• Document study procedures and visit details accurately.
• Maintain compliance with GCP and study protocols.
• Maintain chain of custody for biological specimens.
• Ensure participant safety, privacy, and comfort during visits.
• Communicate with clinical research coordinators and study teams.
• Manage and maintain phlebotomy supplies.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
