Job summary

Hawthorne Health seeks a Mobile Clinical Research Phlebotomist to perform in-home visits, draw blood, and collect specimens for clinical studies. You will follow study protocols and ensure participant safety and comfort during each home visit.

Ideal candidates work independently, manage a flexible schedule, and accurately document procedures using electronic systems. Travel to participant homes across the region is required, with a focus on high-quality, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• BLS certification.
• Phlebotomy certification from national body (AAH, ASCP, NAHP, NHA, NCCT, NPA, NPCT, or NPS).
• 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Venipuncture experience with diverse populations.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to participant homes.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule.
• Experience using electronic documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home visits with trial participants per study schedules.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens per protocols and safety guidelines.
• Process, label, and prepare specimens for shipment to central labs.
• Document study procedures and visit details accurately.
• Maintain compliance with study protocols and GCP guidelines.
• Maintain chain of custody for biological specimens.
• Ensure participant safety, privacy, and comfort during home visits.
• Communicate with study coordinators and teams as needed.
• Manage phlebotomy and specimen collection supplies.
• Follow infection control and safety procedures.
