Responsibilities include prioritizing sample collection, collecting patient data, selecting venipuncture methods, and ensuring proper labeling and testing. A phlebotomy diploma is preferred and strong data entry skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Phlebotomist or Phlebotomy Technician.
• Knowledge of patient identification methods.
• Familiarity with laws governing blood draws and fluid samples.
• Strong computer and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize requests for sample collection based on urgency.
• Collect patients’ personal information.
• Determine the correct venipuncture method for each patient.
• Provide patients with reassurance during the collection process.
• Use sterilized needles, vials, and other equipment to draw blood.
• Correctly label samples and send them for testing.
