Job summary

The Prevention of Blindness Society of Metropolitan Washington is seeking a part-time Optometrist for children’s exams. The role requires 100% mobile travel within DC and Prince George's County, providing essential eye care services in elementary schools.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience or residency completion.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care practices.
• Ability to measure and record vital signs accurately.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic eye examinations to children ages 4 to 12.
• Diagnose and treat visual conditions like nearsightedness.
• Maintain accurate records for each client.

Skills

Strong knowledge of childhood eye issues

Proficient in conducting eye exams

Patient care experience with young children

Spanish-speaking

Education

Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree

Valid optometry license in DC and MD
