Compensation and Benefits

$90/hr with benefits and a sign‑on bonus.

Job Type and Schedule

Full‑time, part‑time or W-2. Up to 5 days/week with no nights and no weekends except for very select voluntary exceptions.

Location and Travel

Licensed optometrist required in Maryland. Commute throughout the greater Baltimore area for mobile clinic work.

Position Overview

Vision To Learn seeks a compassionate, mission‑driven optometrist to provide high‑quality eye exams and deliver glasses to students in underserved communities as part of a mobile clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct vision evaluations: check visual acuity, assess binocular vision, intraocular pressure, pupils, perform a full refraction, prescribe appropriate correction, and assess ocular health.
• Prescribe vision devices, test patients on applicable equipment to determine suitability, and instruct proper use.
• Confirm that patient diagnoses are properly documented in the internal systems.

Qualifications

• Maryland optometry license.
• Flexibility to commute throughout the greater Baltimore area.
• Pass Department of Justice background check (LiveScan) and drug test.

Clearance Requirements

• Department of Justice background check/fingerprinting (LiveScan).
• Child abuse history clearance.
• Tuberculosis test.
• Drug test.
