Job summary

Hawthorne-Health is seeking a capable cardiac sonographer to travel to patient homes and perform echocardiograms on adult and pediatric patients. You will transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment, explain procedures, and obtain informed cooperation from participants, ensuring quality imaging per ASE standards.

The role requires 3+ years of experience, RDCS or RCS credentials, AE certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification required.
• AE adult certification required; PE not required but a plus.
• 3+ years of recent sonography experience in adult and pediatric settings.
• BLS certification is required.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel locally/regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech savvy.
• Ability to work independently in field settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments.
• Strong time management and organization skills.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE

• Travel to patient homes to conduct visits

• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment

• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant

• Perform echocardiograms per protocol on adult and pediatric patients

• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging

• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines

• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review

• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments

• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards

• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment

WHAT YOU BRING | REQUIREMENTS

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer(RDCS)from ARDMS,or Registered Cardiac Sonographer(RCS)from CCI.

• Certification in Adult (AE) is required, Pediatric (PE) certification not required but a plus

• 3+ years of recent sonography experience,in both adult and pediatrics

• Basic Life Support(BLS)

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally/regionally

• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet required; Tech savvy andself sufficientwith digital tools

• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings

• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner

• Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments

• Time management and organizational skills

$450 - $600 a day

Rate of pay is per visit, not per day.
