Job summary

Hawthorne-Health is seeking an experienced cardiac sonographer to perform home visits and portable echocardiography for both adult and pediatric patients. You will travel to patient homes, set up equipment, explain procedures, and collect clear images for cardiology review.

Qualifications include RDCS or RCS, AE certification, 3+ years of sonography, and BLS. Independence in field settings and strong patient communication are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • RDCS or RCS certification required from ARDMS/CCI.
  • AE certification required; pediatric PE not required but a plus.
  • 3+ years of recent sonography experience in adult and pediatric settings.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally/regionally.
  • Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech savvy.
  • Ability to work independently in non-traditional, field-based settings.
  • Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
  • Adaptability in dynamic field environments.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.

Job description

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING | THE ROLE
  • Travel to patient homes to conduct visits

  • Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment

WHAT YOU BRING | REQUIREMENTS
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI.

  • Certification in Adult (AE) is required, Pediatric (PE) certification not required but a plus

  • 3+ years of recent sonography experience, in both adult and pediatrics

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally/regionally

  • Access to a personal computer and reliable internet required; Tech savvy and self sufficient with digital tools

  • Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings

  • Excellent patient communication and bedside manner

  • Adaptability in dynamic, field-based environments

  • Time management and organizational skills
